Default Unusual Flower

Photographers Comments
This plant grows in the Thompson Arboretum, Superior, Arizona.
I was told there are only three plants of this kind here in North America,(a native of Chile) this is one, and the strange thing is, it only blooms every 5 years or so.
I have never seen a flower of this color before.
Can anybody help to identify this plant. (looks like it is from the Agave Family

Hello Hans ... I cannot give any serious crit, but will ask a Chilean Friend who visits tomorrow, if He can I.D. the Species ... sure is very unusual

So this is the mamma plant of that GREEN bloom...amazing for sure....Ah yes does have a slight *agave* cousin like look to it. Nice shot!
