Not really keen on doing close observation of flies but this was a first. No idea of what this behavior indicates but thought it was interesting.

Well captured - an interesting shot. Personally, i would have preferred a narower aperture so that more of the head was in focus. I guess that the fly is either salivating or regurgitating food, which is how they feed (and pass on diseases) - nice
