This is a really good shot. I would like to make some comments, but you have not asked for them...I think a few minor changes could make it even better. Was it shot in RAW? Well done.

Hi Else, thanks for your comments.
Hi rob, please feel free to make any comments you wish. ( Shan't talk to you if you upset me ) Not sure what you mean "I haven't asked for them" re your comments. I assumed putting pix up for critique was to let others comment. I am always looking for ways to improve. Cheers.

Alex,
I don't have anything negative to say - if I'd taken this shot I would be very pleased, as you should be. Just a few points though. This is a great example of throwing away the 'rule of thirds' and having a symmetrical shot. But, the shot seems to be tilting to the left slightly - due, I think to that bright green sward of grass on the right. You could rotate it about 1.25 deg clockwise, even though the camera may well have been level when you took it. The water could be selectively contrasted to make it match the sky more. Finally, you could crop a small amount from the bottom to get that perfect symmetry. These are small changes, and I hope you don't mind but I edited it along these lines. This scene holds special memories for me, I had a very happy walking holiday with my ex-wife here (we stayed in the Fish Hotel, just out of the shot) in 1977. Happy days.

Hi rob, as I said make any comments. I know about the slight tilt but I thought it looked better if the bright green headland was straight. O well.
I do like your edit of the pic and I don't mind at all. How come yours looks better with the far shore straight??????? would it be the slight crop from the bottom of the pic As for the contrast on the water, I am not that good with PSP yet, still struggling.
Thank you for taking the time to explain. Appreciated Alex

I think what threw things out here when you took it was the angular shape of the green bank. I do this all the time, something looks straight but when you get back home you can see you've been tricked.
The contrast is easy - select the area of water with the lasso tool, feather it to about 150 (CTRL/ALT/D) then contrast the selection. There are other ways to do it, but that's probably the easiest.
