Violet-green Swallow- first one seen this year- pretty little bird.

Nice shot Mary, i find it difficult to critique shots like this as i am useless at catching any moving subject. Like it!

Thanks Dennis for your comment. I question if there might be a better way to deal with the utility wire that these birds insist on perching on- composition wise maybe straightening the image so the wire is parallel to the top/ bottom of the picture or try shooting from a different angle and making the wire go more from corner to corner? Mary

He is a pretty little fella and so cute with the fluffy feathers. Only critique is that his head is slightly out of focus perhaps due to movement blur otherwise a very nice capture, well done Mary

Thanks Maureen- Yes it is slightly out of focus- hand held shot w/ heavy 400 lens- not bird movement but my unsteadiness- should have taken the tripod out......
