This is Harlech Castle in North Wales from a weeks R&R there in early March. Even though Mrs f18 had dragged me around Snowdonia all day long and we had returned exhausted, hungry & cold at the end of a long day, when I saw this glorious sunset I just couldn’t miss it. Luckily this spot was only 100m from our rented cottage and the pub was the next stop!
The sea originally lapped at the foot of the big rock on which the castle is built however 100’s of years of encroachment by a mobile dune system has reclaimed around 500m of land (the low land to the left) on to which the Welsh authorities have allowed a golf course, a housing estate & a caravan park / holiday centre thereby spoiling the scene for every photographer who visits
