painting a waterfall

This is Hamilton Falls in Vermont. Not sure who the artist is but I was drawn by her red hat as I thought it est it off. The very top of the falls had gotten washed out by the sun and I had to add it in with a picture I took from another angle. Hope it blends in OK. Art

Hi Art, This is a nice scene, the story in it overcomes any exposure issues for me. The waterfall is captivating on its own, but I like how you have not went for the standard shot of cascading water but shown it from the perspective of the artist. Her red hat is a striking contrast to all the green, but including the artists interpretation really completes it for me. Well done!

Thanks Peter. I had a tough time with the exposure. I was in the shade and the sun was at the top of the waterfall and I was looking straight into it. I wanted this angle to shop the artist and I did not have time to stay and wait for the sun to be in a different spot as I had gone with a friend who did the driveing. They knew where the waterfall was and we had to get back to the campground. Art
