You have such a wonderful way with light and the colour white. I'm envious. This image is really beautiful. Love the detail.

Debbie, this is shot in a studio, so it was pretty simple to set up the lighting, and with a decent light meter all the guesswork is removed.

Glad I came in to check out this white bird; now, that I'm here, I see that it is actually a powdery grey..Nice exposure, even up his tail, if I may be so crude. Rich, warm detailing on the post

Phil. Lighting consisted of 2 softboxes, 1 set to F11 on the left, one to F8 on the right, and a snoot set to F11 on it's back to the right. The set up was actually for something totally different, but with the Cockatoo clowning around it was too good an opportunity to miss. 1/200th, F11, ISO 100.
