Good shot, bit soft but difficult subject! reflections in background a bit distracting and the angle could be better - facing more towards the camera - but I like it all the same.

Cheers, again. Was actually sat in the car using my joby tripod, but still practicing. As in soft, do you mean I need to up the ISO, use faster shutter speed etc? Think if I cloned out the reflections it would make it look a bit more pleasing?
TIA
MARK

Yes a faster shutter spoeed would sharpen it up, difficult if you don't have good light though as you end up compromising the ISO and so get 'noisier' shots. if you are using a tripod that should minimize blurring caused by shake. Looking at your exif I see you were shooting at 1/500 at 5.6 400iso. I would have actually dropped the shutter speed a bit and stopped your lens down a bit - that would give you a bit more leeway depth of field wise - often the softness comes from being out of the sharp focus area which is what looks like has happened here - you focused on the back and because the aperture is quite wide the head being an inch or two further away from the focal plane has gone soft. You could have got away with 250/sec at something like F8 or even 125 at f11.
good luck with that and let me know how you get on.
