Blue Tit Dining Out
Photographers Comments
Ok, here goes first of three images Ive been practicing my photography on. I posted a post earlier about taking photos of birds, and a really BIG thank you to Trevor for giving me a phone call, tips, and a most fantastic location to visit.
The images are not crystal sharp, but with practice I will get there.

I like tits, they are great birds to photograph and the classic pose is the hanging from the nuts shot. This does not really work for me as it looks like it is just about to scarper - had he been facing the nuts it would have been better - maybe crop off some of the bottom too - again to draw the eye in. Oh - one more little, miniscule point - it is a great tit not a blue one - bet you feet a right one now eh? lol thanks for sharing mate!

LOL Thanks Andy. Yups I is a right one! Thanks for the info, but whats the difference? Honestly would like to know. Yes he was about to scarper, in fact he did just after I pressed the shutter release, but its the best one I got of him/her.
I tried working with the RoT in the cropping, but yes agree a closer crop would be better.
Please, if you have any more tips on photographing birds I will be greatful if you would pass them on
Cheers mate
MARK

The Blue tit is smaller and has blue and yellow in its colouring while the great tit is more blacks and greens and is much bigger - a much more agressive bird than the blue. You can also get coal tits, long tailed tits, marsh tits and willow tits. ....as you can see, I know a lot about tits, I lived a very sheltered life when I was a kid. You should speak with EOS man - (Andy) he went over to the scilly isles photographing puffins with Andy Rouse the wildlife photographer - he probably has a few tips too. (uses a canon though so he is not a real photographer)

Trevor, thank you for this location! Its a great place to visit and plenty of practice time available. It was quite windy and snowy at times, so I just sat in the car to take the shots when I could. I got a week off in a couple of weeks, so earmarking a day to go back there again.

Not bad for your first attempts Spooks! these little birds are busy little things and dont stay still for long so you have done a great job there! i know its not easy but try and leave all the other clutter out ie the peanuts as this is a big eye draw, perhaps they can be cloned out? and they are taking up as much room in the fame as the bird, he also looks a little lost on all the rock, perhaps more of a crop would of helped, None the less a great job!
