Hi Andy,
was this shot on film? I have not yet been able to train my digital to achieve the DoF effects you have here. I like the blur in the foreground to pin sharp centre and the drop off to blur again in the background. Gives a great 3D feel to it.
Nice one mate...

sure does...I looked and saw that your aperature is 13.0...so was this achieved through the editing..great job...gives me ideas. I grew up in a farming area and I used to cringe everytime I heard men call it the rapefields, in such a matter of fact way

HI Andy,
No it is not noisy. It wasn't until I had written my crit that I chose to look at you exif info. (Der....a blond moment)
I have not been able to achieve this type of depth with my DLSR Canon Eos 300D. Whereas I could on the 35mm format Canon Eos 5 / 600 + 650

no noise here..looking closer in the background there are 2 kinds of textured trees ..the one kind give a blurry look, which I happen to like

We call it Canola here, I have done many landscape paintings of canola fields.

The DOF you have achieved here gave me pause for thought........I can only get to f11 on my camera and thats in manual, something I haven't quite mastered yet....lol I generally use the aperture priority setting with which I have just discovered will only let me go to f8 .......I suppose I have to get the brain cells working and get over my fear of the manual thing......this is one great learning curve!!!!

Oh yes, note to self: start saving for a new camera !
