Gary it is a tricky one my friend. Theft of images is rife these days and I totally agree that you should protect your work. To be honest I have no idea how you are going to tackle this one. I really enjoy your images and for me personally its a shame to see the added mark. I know others do not have a problem with it and its a personal thing. The mark will not deter me from looking though mate. Like you say..maybe placement elsewhere in the image of the mark would be better. Ultimately of course it is totally your choice as to what you do. I think people were just casting an honest opinion and not asking you to remove it.

Hi Tco:

I take all critisism as being constructive, and I am not offended in anyway, unless of course, it is down and out nasty, then that makes me mad. I actually appreciate what they have said, that is why I will try to make it less distracting. I spent the last four years on another forum, which is closing down, and had many discussion, cristicisms, etc., and never once became offended. I also learned alot, and thankful for it.

Sylmac

hi gary this is a cracking image the watermark doesnt bother me and i know where your comming from ive had a fair few images stolen.. some of which were posted on the very site i uploaded them too.. guess thieves arnt very intelligent haha! if it helps i reduce my image size to 550 or 600 pixels and save at 72dpi which would give a photo thief no chance of selling my images and not very good for printing either not sure about the vignetting frame but would look great with a black frame

Hi Genese;
Thank you for the comments. I am going to try and position the watermarks differently so as not to be too distracting, but difficult to remove. Yes, the world abounds with unscrupulous people. As for the vignetting versus a frame, I suppose it is a subjective opinion, as with all photographs. Reducing the size way down has never really worked for me, it dampens everything down too much for my taste.
