This was taken today in a great hurry to catch the last of the light after work.

You really stepped up to the plate with this one Julia. Beautiful colour you have captured. I really must get off my butt and look for skies like these.

Thanks Tco, you're too kind though - there is a definite advatage to living in the north - the shadows and light are better!! It was only a point-and-press pic after work today - I have been chasing these shots all week from different parts of the Bay. Any suggestions for playing with this in PS?

Sorry Tco, have just noticed that you're in Cornwall - the skies don't come more lovely than yours. We're hoping to have a family camping trip down your way this year, so I'd better bring a car charger for the Nikon!

Thank you, Else, on behalf of the lovely area in which I live - nothing to do with me, I'm still just taking photos of the world around me. My stepson was in Canada & Alaska recently - I'm so jealous!

If you are going to be camping Julia and a socket is not going to be available, then joking aside, i'll gladly charge the battery for you m'dear.
As for photoshopping the shot. To be honest, apart from cropping off a little from the bottom to lose a tiny bit of the dark area, I would leave as is. Its going to be difficult to play with this one. If you know the weather is going to afford you such wonderful light again...then return to the same spot and vary the exposures so maybe you could do a HDR version of this wonderful view.
