Wow great shot. i was here (not at her majesties pleasure though!!) a few months back and remember the signs to it. we stopped for a walk across the moors a bit further down the road and then had lunch in a pub. damn fine sausages in mustard gravy!!! cant remember the village name. it has the tourist info centre and museum in it opposite the fire station...

The place you visited was Princetown!! there are a couple of good pubs that sell fab food, one of them is the Plume & Feathers ... this one is the most popular for walkers!! thanks for the comment

Princetown! oh yes now i remember!! we stayed in a old coach house in just outside of tavistock. very friendly people, great food. on the way home we went across the moors through widecombe which i have a HDR shot i should post.. going out of the village was a majorly high and steep road, it had snowed overnight and we were in the wifes' Zafira with 18" alloys..great for getting up slippery slopes!! NOT!!!!! nearly rolled backwards but made it out alive!!
we are going back to south devon in may with the kids for a short holiday...cant wait!!
