Default Crawling Mists of Argyll

Photographers Comments
This is one of my favourite views (apart from Rannoch Moor.... LOL) when we holiday in Scotland. It was the mist and clouds that caught my attention for this one, and I dont think I have a photo like it in my library.

Hopes you likes it as I do....

Mountain range in distance is Glen Orchy and the water you see is Loch Awe - one of the biggest lochs in Scotland - although it is man made!

Stunning scene.
But, because I'm a cropaholic, and I like non-standard proportions, and because the creeping mists are the main interest in the image, I've cropped the top and bottom, lightened the distant content, darkened the closer parts, resulting in this version.
It's great having such a good image to start with, when messing with other people's work!!

I prefer the original crop and processing. I fail to see any advantage in the exaggerated crop.

We don't all expect to like the same things but I would like to assure you that this wasn't a wanton crop and modification just for the hell of it.
The main advantages I see are:
1. based on the name, the main subject is the mists - the crawling mists themselves are now a greater proportion of the image;
2. the relatively uninteresting grey clouds no longer detract from the main subject, nor overpower the image (being about 1/3rd of the original).
3. the previously interesting and gloriously coloured foreground now detract and distract less from the main subject.
