I think you may have applied the wrong filter here. Ive seen a few shots where people have taken nice shots and gone a little too far maybe with them. How about a dark saturated version with a spot of diffuse on it ?
The shot is there, maybe not the best way to edit it ( but just my opinion).

like i said, IR is not my strong point but you have to start somewhere right? I think Barry from Wales is top dollar at this so far so i think i'll pester him for a bit...

I've been looking for a decent tutorial on IR emulation in P/shop since looking at Barrys shots, though I know he has a specialist cam. I'll give this a go bud, cheers for the link. Post a link to a bigger view of the shot Andy and keep us posted if you refine or find other techniques for IR.
Looking forward to seeing the bigger pic bud.
