Been in Lous neck of the woods today and late afternoon nipped to Avebury before coming home. Nice place defo book a return visit for more togging time.

Excelllent image - very reminiscent of Castlerigg. The stones are spread further in Avebury. Nice light and lovely clear sky.

Love the pic Den....feel right at home now as thats not far from me....great shot, it is a beautiful place to visit, and like you I have made a note to go back there when work and weather permit lol....really like this shot as its local to me lol well done mr den

Hi Russell/Lou, yeah only had a short time, had to wait for kids to keep moving, but Lou its lovely down there mate. Will go back next time at dawn when no-one about and have a real good look round. Stones and ancient barrows and things all over the place no wonder it a world heritage site. marlborough looks nice as well. Defo be back!

It is a lush place, I've been a few times now, and still love the place...theres a place not far from there damn forgot the name of the place oh thats it west kennet long barrow i wanted to get there, but it was raining buckets, and you have to walk through a field to get to it, so i gave up...but check it out...looks like a place to visit. next time you come this way let me know, and ill come with ya

No probs, need nice weather or real dramatic skies for there but of course i will let you know. I see my Customer up the road in Swindon every month anyway.

lots and lots to photograph rouund there Lou, wish i had as much scenery as you have.

Dave may i point out i took the image FOR lou as she lives in that area and i was passing through!

Going back though 1/2hr not enough time. over 4000yrs old this site older and bigger than stonehenge

Hi Den if you return at the same time of day take your remote flash guns with you and try filling in some of the dark stones especially the one closest to us.

Nice lead from the lens to the curve of stones mate.
