hi julie i am presuming you shot this in RAW? have you tried changing the white balance to remove some of the flash look? also using curves to darken the front on the boat may help!

I have to stop at this shot, something fantastic! You choiched a very good angle. Agree with Paul you have an excellent eye for this photography, thank you for sharing.
PS: Flash does not disturbe me, but it is true that the dawn would be emphasize much more better without it.
