very nice subject but the colours are a bit 'bland'...it could be brilliant if 'sharpened up a bit'.

Hi Neil,
I feel the contrast is a little high, and it could do with a small amount of apperture blur. I appreciate that you can not do that now the image has been taken but it can be corrected if you would allow me.

Go for it phil but please put post how you did it so everyone learns a little bit more

I usually go for higher contrast in my prints, just a personal preference

Hi Neil,
I had a go, not too sure whether the results worked on this try, but it does show hat this image is open to many possible interpritations. I added a blur layer and knocked areas back to adjust the depth, I then added a graduating sepia filter at around 50%, the appeture to the gate was left sharp to draw the eye inwards, however as previously stated, I'm not too sure whether this has worked.

Hi Neil, have had a go using Lightroom 2 only, dropped into silver efex which is a plug-in, darkened the edges, lightened the path and gate to give it focus and then added a split tone.
