One of a series of this bird- I shot this with a 400 lens on a very overcast day. I did clone some branches out and softened the edges a bit in post processing.

Hi great find... the image looks over exposed was that due to shooting into direct light or post processing?

This bird perches way up in the top of a tall tree and I was also shooting into a very bright overcast sky and also did blur the edges on this- in retrospect not such a good idea. I took another image very similar to this one and dropped a background into it and it works a lot better. Also took out a few more of the branches on the right. Thge bird is a frequent visitor here and I am just waiting for him to land a bit lower on the tree- so far no luck but I will get it one of these days. Thank you for your comments.

hmm maybe a little too much of a light vignette ( if thats what it is) but i like the shot. Its one of those cases i think of 'why edit a shot too much, if you have a nice one to start with ?'.

You're righ Ric. The original needed a little help but I definately did too much- kind of fell into the trap of "if a little bit is good more must be better". Not so true. The subsequent one is a much better effort.
