Wonderfull pic great pose my only slight niggle is the focus is just slightly out the nose looks sharp and they eyes not so. But still fantastic image non the less.

i agree with nik the eyes dont seem o be in focus, when taking pictures of animals always always focus on the eyes!

Thanks for the feedback as you can see from Exif I was at the long end and should have gone a lot closer I am learning all the time this was taken in 2006 whilst on holiday in Thailand and Cambodia

Peter, No need to get closer. I presume Auto Focus was used and this nearly always tries to focus on the closest object, in this case the nose!
I have the APO Version of the Sigma Lens you have and found this to be the same. I spent a few sessions with local Squirrels and found that by using only 1 AF spot and focus over the eye, quickly recompose and firing off the shot works well. DOF at 300mm is rather thin!
Nice shot though, looking forward to seeing Nik's sharpened re work.

Roger Thanks for that Yes sigma a good lens but yes had on auto focus from feedback I now use single point of focus
