This is the wonderful thing about photography. We can see other places and peoples lives around this world of ours.
I like the colours in this shot the railway and the river.
I guess the Railway was originally built by POWs thanks for sharing this image.

Good picture, but made better by the history everyone is aware of thanks to films/documentaries e.t.c
Nik is right photography/photos allows us to see places we might never go and capture things we might never experience personally.
Pics like this don't have to be technically brilliant, perfectly posed e.t.c to have impact. (not that i see anything wrong anyway) The railway and its history intrudes into the normality of life in modern day Thailand

Yes this is still part of the the original railway built by the POWs during WW2 and a train runs once a day on part of it
Very moving knowing that thousands of people built and died during it's construction.
Museums at Kanchanaburi are fantastic and have very good quality photographs on display to give one a very good idea of what these POWs had to ensure
