Wow Mary .. he is looking at you .. was that his prey .. lol .. I know that you must of been in a vehicle of some sort so you were protected to some degree. Nice comp. Thanks for sharing .. your adventure via photos ...

You're right we were in vehicles- one person to a seat and also had a roof hatch so had ample photo ops. The guide/ drivers told us that the cats sort of viewed the vehicles as big rocks so we were safe- not so if we were out on the vehicle. Great! one day we were photographing a female cheetah and her 2 year old cubs. Now Cheetahs are prone to sit up on things that have some height. You can see where this is going. The female cheetah jumped to the spare tires and then onto the roof of the land rover. I was in the vehicle parked behind this one so got some images of a couple of very suprised photographers who had the presence of mind to keep shooting while literally face to face with a very large cat. I will dig those out and post them. Mary

That is a wonderful photo! You are so lucky to have had the chance to be face to face with these animals. So glad you did not become the cats lunch!
