Default Birds/ Africa I

Photographers Comments
Well I am finally sorting through the large number of bird images I took while on holiday. This, I think, is an immature Bateleur Eagle- anyone know for sure?. My bird ID record keeping was a bit lax on this trip- just too many things to see all at once.

Very nice image, with good detail in the feathers. He has his/her eye on something which makes for a good pose. That tree is very interesting, in the bottom right it looks like some sort of fruit or is it a deformed branch.

Thanks folks for the comments. I do not think it is on a fruit tree but my tree ID is even worse than my bird ID-probably more like a deformed branch. The bird was on the watch for prey. Have a number of shots of him all looking 360 degrees. The adult eagle picture does look a little different. This bird does have a short tail but his beak/ eye color is different from the adult thus the thinking it might be an immatture one.
