Nice setting there for this type of image, I know that you have had lots of rain lately, as we have been caught out in those storms climbing around the Tryfan area this week. I like the way that you have caught the flow of the water, just a pity that you have burnt the centre bit away. The way that I get over this is to take a couple of under exposed images and just layer them on top of your normal exposed image, to blend them together.

As Barry says, looking at the exif it was quite a fast shutter speed so i guess was quite bright or in the afternoon. I have put a circular polariser on to lower the shutter speed and prevent the blown highlights. Or as barry says bracket 3 exposures and overlay them

I don't think that a circular polariser would have helped much to prevent the blown highlights as you would have had a longer shutter speed making things worse.

When i did my shots in bright sunlight with mello of the 3 shires head i used the polariser to drop down to a shutter speed which made the water blurry, without it it was just too bright. Guess its all a trade off and you have to get the balance of ISO. exposure and shutter speed just right.

After studying the picture and remembering the conditions, I think it was the sheer volume of water in the central part of the waterfall over the exposure time compared to the rest of the fall that has caused the overexposure.
I went back today and took some more photos. I shall pull them off the camera later.

Hi this is much better, although trees look a little darker. I hope that you didn't mind but I have just adjusted the levels on the trees only, to brighten it up a bit.
