Default Stargazer Lily

Photographers Comments
Taken in my back garden, one of the most stunning and perhaps most celebrated lily varieties is the stargazer lily. Known for its striking blooms and heavenly scent.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful detailing and colour, and all without the usual pollen stains that can sometimes ruin shots like these. Looks great against the black background.

Personally, i would have gradually faded out the stem as it dropped out of the frame, but thats just personal taste.

Very good indeed!

Hi Paul, Thanks for looking and for the kind comment much appreciated. Glad you like it. Had a play with Redfields fractalius demo, this is the result.
Just need to sort out about removing demo.

Nice example of the Fractalius filter. Its a great subject for the effect, but i much prefer the delicacy of your original.

Hi Paul, excellent flower image, nice colours with good detail. Only small crit is the background, when I view it full screen I can see a distracting shadow in background.

Hi Barry, thanks for your comments, very much appreciated.
As for the distracting shadow, I thought you had lost the plot at first, as I couldn't see any? Then I tilted my screen down a bit and I now see what you mean, well spotted. Will have blacken out in PS.
All the best Paul

Mornin' Paul, agree with everyone else here its a brilliant capture, but I too see the distracting frame in the background which keeps drawing my eye away from the lilly - btw: these are my missus favs. We have two tubs just by backdoor and they smell lovely when in bloom!!!!
