Photographers Comments
Not my strongest photographic genre so put it up to see what folk think. Taken about 7a.m. Saturday morning.

Hi Maureen

Nice picture but for me there has to be some interest in the sky. Personally, I'd drop another sky into the background. It would be worth playing with your levels and see if you can get a bit more detail into the far bank where it's very dark. Hope this helps!

Pete

Thanks for the feedback Pete much appreciated. I'm not that good (as you can see) at taking photographs of landscapes so the more help the better

Who's Paul? Damn, he was quick

The best advice I can give you about landscape photography Maureen is if you see a scene you like and the light is right, which is very important, just sit and look at the "picture" for a while and take your time. Landscapes, unfortunately, can't be rushed. If the light isn't right, go back another day. And don't be afraid to experiment with b&w to reveal landscape shapes and shadows. Having said that, you wouldn't want to lose the colour in your shot - that Purple Loosestrife (I think) is lovely!

Sorry for getting your name wrong Pete

Thanks for the advice. I will certainly be following it next time I'm out taking landscapes
