Mark,
Thankyou again for your helpful suggestions and tuition ... totally appreciate it!
I liked the HDR you created in Dynamic Photo better ... but would still like to try Qtpfsgui since I've got that software. I guess my main problem is the size of the final image ... were you able to end up with something decent? I just did a search on Google, and found a suggested work-around to this (which I dont understand) ... to delete the image and then create your own larger one (????????). Can't figure that one out at all LOL!
So ... if you know how to end up with a large image I would love to hear the secret ... thankyou!

Mark,
Once again, thankyou! I had another try (very briefly!) last night, and was able to find a drop down menu which produced a much larger image (yay!).... very unhappy with the lighting on the final image though.
Further research into Qtpfsgui indicates that it uses the EXIF data embedded in the image ... I noticed that when I first load the three images into the program, there is a box next to each image giving options to set the EV. So, I did exactly that ... I think I will need to play with various values to get the output I am wanting .... will try again either this evening (Friday) or over the weekend sometime.
Hopefully, I will end up with something more satisfactory! At least I am learning all the while :-)
THANKYOU!
