Default hello

I was looking around at different sites for photography and photoshop hints and tutorials and found this site a couple of days ago. I actually learnt something from Alistairs article on Rule of Thirds in Actions, so thought I would join up as all looks very good to me.
I first developed an interest in photography 25 years ago when I did a short course and did some developing. Then life took over and had to shelve it as a hobby until about a year ago. Time now permits me to 'indulge' and upgraded my compact (sony cybershot) to a Canon 400D. Along with a Sigma 17-70mm, Canon ef 70-300mm, Canon 60mm for macro and a Canon 28mm I now have my range of lenses. I am addicted and indulge daily!
My family are officially neglected (teenagers and husband do a lot more cooking now!) by the hours spent in photoshop but I love it!
My ambition after a lot more learning is to upgrade to a full frame camera probably a Canon EOS 5D, need to save up my pennies for that one.
Looking forward to spending some time here
Sharron
ps have a love hate relationship with my printer and would really appreciate some help hints and tips. I have a HP Photosmart ProBN180 which seems to have a mind of it's own but am sure it's down to my calibration skills (or lack of) Does anyone have one of these?

Welcome Sharron, I’m glad the article was a help.

That’s the trouble with life, at least it is curable.

The 5D is an excellent target to aim for, a lot of my friends use it and are delighted with all aspects. As for your love hate relationship with your printer, I think this is a prerequisite for all photographers, calibration with the right equipment does help a little!

Hope you enjoy your time here

Alistair

Default Welcome

Hi Sharron,
Welcome to the forum, and keep up the good work (cameras and photoshop) .
Look forward to seeing some of your images in the gallery soon, as for printers I do not use them at all for photos. I use Photobox on-line printing as they are delivered onto my doormat the following day, I have tried other on-line printers but have always returned to Photobox for service, quality and prices.

Hi Sharron,
Welcome to the site, I don't think you will find yourself alone here when you describe your family neglections. My children are now officially fartherless, and my wife has been a camera and photoshop widow for so long now she even lays a memorial flower next to my PC

Have lots of fun here, and I am sure we can all learn lots more from each other.

Regards....Phil
