Thanks everyone, much appreciate the friendly welcome. Looks like it will be a fun place to hang out here  As for that 1200mm lens I'd be able get some great shots of the people in Cardiff from where I live with that, as it is I get some nice ones of the millenium stadium with just a mere 300mm

I'm still girding my loins ready to upload some images (I think coward, is the appropriate term in my case!) but when I do I'm sure they'll all be kind  . Thanks Karen, I have so much to learn about using my Canon too. I've been experimenting with the RAW images, can't believe they are so much better than JPG but they take a lot of time to upload to the computer.
Marie, I think coward pretty much describes me well too But I'm sure I'll get around to it after I've reached my 5 post limit
