Newbie saying hello

Hi All

After amassing some 13Gb of photos of the last 7 years i am finally doing something with them here

I currently use either my Fuji F610 Zoom of my Fuji S9600, i am sorry to report though that i am a bit of an auto setting bum. The whole f-stop aperture thing still escapes me at the moment despite reading up on it. I am looking forward to posting on here as the photos i have seen already on here are awesome with some techniques that i would like to learn about.

I have been lucky enough to have travelled to some 85 countries and i think this has definately inspired me to click away. But as always i am a great believer in feedback so feel free to visit my first site and or comment on my photos that get posted.

Hi Barry, from another Barry. Anyway hope that you will enjoy the forum, plenty of advice and friendly banter here once you get to reconise a few of the regular names. I see that you have already started on the personal projects, we will have you twisting that dial from Auto over the next couple of months

Hi Barry thanks for the welcome, you have some great shots on your site, i have spent many, many a mile on the Breacons and Black mountains and you have really captured the beauty in your shots. Those infra red shots are really good is it a special lens or an expensive camera?

Thanks for your comments, as for Infrared it started with a expensive filter and later on progressed to a expensive special camera

EY UP Baz,
Auto,Autoooo!!! ohhh no,no,no,no,no (shakes head like churchill dog) NIGHTMARE at first mate i know (we've all been there!!! LOL).

Check out the exif on photo's posted, read the crits,ask people why they chose a particular apperture/speed and if you need any help post a thread and someone will be along in no time to help,we'll have you taking control of your camera in no time mate...

PS: Like the silhouette of the chopper with the blokies next to it...

Only been here a few weeks myself but it's a great place to hang out, very friendly & very supportive.

Nice web site, lots of good images there. I see you are (ex?)RN , a Type 22 & 42 man even ... blimey, know them well, I'm one of the Abbey Wood / Foxhill civy types & originally (more years than I can count) from Rosyth dockyard. Small world

And Somerset to boot. Once you get your feet under the table, if you are ever at a loose end, camera at the ready, but nowhere to go then give me a shout. I'm always on the look out for an excuse to get out in the fresh air.
