Hi Bugzy, Sun came out breify today but the wind was also blowing not making it ideal for infra-red shots due to the long exposure. So I quickly went into the garden and took a shot using a S9500 camera, sorry about composition but I was just interested in whether this camera would shot in infra-red. This shot was a 4 second exposure at about 3.5f, the bright glare in the middle was probably from where I was trying to hold the infrared filter up against the lens and some daylight must have been getting past, the leaves are blurred due to the wind and 4 sec exposure. But there does seem to be quite a bit of noise in the dark areas, but i did not know how to check the ISO setting as this is not my camera.
But it is possible to take infrared shots with this camera, but more experimenting with settings would be required. So if you want to pursue this further then I would suggest that you get a Cokin square infrared filter and a cokin 58mm adapter that will screw on the front of your lens then tape the adapter to the lens, making the whole unit a screw in filter and the tape will also stop any stray daylight entering.
