Hi All,
I've been put onto this site by a mate. I spent most of Sat eve browsing photo's and thought i'd have in.
I'm an absolute begginer at photography, at least for pleasure. For a few years i've done ' documentary' photography through work, taking pictures at various wildlife sites and using them for illustrative talks. Of course, i've always concentrated on Botany as flowers tend not to try to run away as you tryto capture them.

The thing i really like about this site is the fact that others can make constructive criticism of my work and hopefully it'll make me a batter photographer.

Anyway, this is my first post of the five i need to start uploading photo's.

Hi Dave,
Welcome to the site. I have already looked at some of your posts, and from what I have seen, you have made a good start. I will go back to them and nit pic later

Don't forget to get actively involved with the critiques, and enjoy yourself. Please feel free to ask if there is anything that you are not sure of. Lots of talent and expertise here.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for that. I've noticed some of your comments and would appreciate any hints/tips you have. I was put onto this site by Kenny H, who's a lot more experienced than i. He reckons i have an eye for photography. I certainly have the opportunity, we're not short of a good landscape, seascape, wildlife etc etc in this neck of the woods. I'm posting a few photo's that have just sat on my machine. I was encouraged by having a photo in the bbc wildlife mag, and by comments from people who've seen my talks .
I still use my fuji s7000 a lot as it's much more portable than the eos20d, i'm less 'afraid' of trashing it, and still haven't totally worked it out.
Can't wait fo some more frosty days in the fells as i've a lot more ideas to try out, some thanks to browsing this site.
The hope is to use this ite quite a bit more, get involved to the full when i have time.It's just what the Dr ordred.

Dave,
from what I have seen of your images so far, you certainly do have a good eye for a pic. Some wonderful shots there, and it looks like you have Gods back yard on your doorstep. To be honest, there are too many to try and critique at this time of night, and looking at the quality of most, a critique will not be justified.

Cheers for that! have noticed you've reviewed some of my posts. thanks for the hints. Alreday i've been at ps this afternoon, better than proper work.
Was browsing on sat and noticed your work, liked lots i saw, will probably plagiarise like hell. I'm not that experienced to comment other than on what i like though.
