Hi All,

My name is Kay and I am a 44 year old mother of 3. My husbands company have a photo comp every month and it has got me clicking away.

I have always enjoyed photography and love my digital frame to display them all on. I have a canon EOS 300D and a canon ixus.

Hi Barry and Phil,

This months comp is motion/movement. I am torn between a fast shutter speed to freeze the action or a slow one to get some blur in the background.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Where are you located Phil......you can't be too far from us?

welcome to the forum.
Why not use both , a slow shutter speed to get blur and a flash to freeze the subject

I am a complete amateur so is it relatively easy to do?

Am on the laptop at the mo but as soon as I win the fight with the kids for the other PC I will begin to upload some of my photo's. (they're not brilliant but i enjoy taking them)
