John, nice subject, not bad composition but i am going to be honest with you, selective coulour on flowers is not my cup of tea.. I would have been saying "lovely flower, nice detail" if it were just the colour bit. Its all about experimenting i feel so keep going! Lets see some more shots!

I know I sound harsh...sorry mate i'm not meaning to be. We all do shots that sometimes we try and recover (me more than most!)

I really think you should re-shoot this one in better light. It will make you life a lot easier when post processing.

My comments are well intended buddy. Don't give up, its still better than the average. Just trying to 'nudge' you into progress

I went out to take this picture again but both blooms were too far gone
