Default [PP] PP - Ruins

Photographers Comments
This was one of the first PPs that I took on, but only got round to completing it the other night. The title was Ruins so I choose the remains of Brecon Castle. The light source had to be Other Light Source which luckily enough this castle is lit up at night. Focal Length was my biggest problem as I was hoping to include all of the castle, but by using 300mm on a cropped sensor, I was only able to record a section of it. The Night part of it was fine as it is lit up and worked well in colour.

Hi Barry, you know how to pick em dont you, tough set of constraints again. You ticked all the boxes as far as i am concerned, good detail where you had light and even some detail in the sky, would have been nice to have more in but a 300mm + crop no chance unless you retreated to the heads of the valley road!

Hi Dennis, When I first took on the challenge I thought 300mm would be no problem as you can see the castle from quite a distance down the road, but I had such a surprise when I looked through the viewfinder.

I think I would need a 3000mm lens from the Heads of the Valley road plus a few mirrors .
