A good shot, but there is a yellow cast over it. I converted to B&W on an edit, and I think this shot works much better like that. The Apache is rather sinister looking, and B&W really emphasises this. I'm sure you can do it better than me, as you have the full original. Try boosting the contrast as well - I didn't do that.

Hi
Thanks commenting, very much appreciated.
I was just messing around in Photomatix Pro 3 just to get used to controls. Shot does look better in B&W Thanks.
Converted to B&W and done another with selective colouring
All the best
Paul

If you are not careful photomatix 3 does naff your colours up. I found i have to process an image then go and mess about editing later. Like the B & W versions

I know what you mean, I know the look I'm trying to achieve but it's just not letting me do it. Will have to try other means.
All the best

I use Dynamic Photo HDR, which I find gives very good results without blowing the colours apart. Think it probably depends somewhat on the subject. Your Apache had a lot of green and yellow in - when I did BW convert the colour sliders made the most difference to the BW image on the yellow slider. If you use HDR try sticking to the less garish option presets. In my experience they very rarely work.

Like the 2 edits Paul very nice work. The selective colouring works really well
Well done for your first attempt at HDR not bad for your first. Keep at it.

Hi Maureen,
Thanks for stopping to take a look and commenting, very much appreciated. I have tried Dynamic Photo HDR as Rob suggested
(Thanks Rob) and found it a lot better, you have greater control over the effects and lighting
All the best
Paul

Hi Paul, good first attempt at HDR (love the crop you've done) I too like the mono versions. When I first started with HDR I was using PhotoMatix, but like Rob I now use and prefer Dynamic Photo (I even bought full version (birthday treat to me))!! Looking forward to seeing some more of your HDR work
