Photographers Comments
Half in England, half in Wales, this is the view from Thomas Telford’s aqueduct over the River Ceiriog at Chirk. Built between 1796 and 1801, it’s 70 feet tall and has 10 spans. The railway viaduct, added in 1846, stands 30 feet above the canal.
A wonderous piece of enginering & a beautiful place to walk
