Oriental Lily
Photographers Comments
My daughter bought some oriental lily bulbs a couple of years back. This was one of last years blooms.

Well, I think you have beautiful light, your DOF is interesting, the focus is SHARP on the thingies but somehow the impact has been lost because of the background. Take my council and buy yourself a hunk of black velvet.....this would be STUNNING

Looks a bit OTT with the photoshopping for me mate. Nice light but whatever you did to blur and soften the surrounding image is a little too much. Good idea but tone down the amount. Make it subtle and less apparent. Crop is a matter of taste. I like tight when its portraits but not so much on macro. Not a real crit just a personal thing.
Overall a nice image.

Thanks Fay and TCO. I wanted to shoot this in its environment rather than a studio style shot. The DOF was not quite right so I decided to play around with the Orton effect on a layer to create a backdrop. I was quite pleased with the effect but it may not be to everyones liking.
