And I thought it was always sunny in Scotland . Good composition with the train and track, plus having that embankment on the left gives a sense of not knowing what is around the corner. Using monochrome has also enhanced the sky. Nice image

I tried to get a similar shot on this line on the Santa Special last December. All I managed was an underexposed binner and an eye full of cinders, so well done this is a really nice capture. The sky is fantastic and the mono conversion is spot on.

thanx , i think having the steam in the sky makes the sky more dramatic than it actually was!

fabulous image Fi. great consatina effect on the train with the nearest part having shimmer or sense of movement. great view and the sky is really dramatic. your tones are terrific. well done.

Very nice image with a good range of tones in monochrome. Would have been perfect if you could have leant out just a little further - but that probably would have been dangerous! Like the sky very much.

thanx ideally i wouldhaveliked more of the engine and carriages in the shot, but im not the smallest of people and the window just refused to let me further out........ plus the fact that it wasnt really supposed to be opened in the first place! lol
