Default [PP] Speed 3 Project

Photographers Comments
Just had to try this one again. Forgot about the mural we had on the basement den wall.
I used incandescent lighting in such a way as to make it look like the sun was shining on the wings.
Then a little post editing to remove the stand.
So much detail on this model, you can actually see the pilot.
Guess he forgot to put the wheels up!

Hi Debbie,
a great peice of photo editing and use of available materials. Looks like the real thing. I maybe would have added a little motion blur to the BG just to enhance the effect further.

Judging by your comments, looks like I achieved my goal of making it look as realistic as possible.
That's so cool..thanks so much.

Hi Len, it wasn't as difficult as it looks. I used flourescent daylight lighting from the ceiling looking down, but angled on the mural and off to the right side and not on the plane to give it a soft light on the wings. I had the plane sitting high on the top shelf of a shelving unit in front of and about 4 feet away from a full wall mural. To achieve a more blurring effect on the background, I probably should have had it about 6 feet away, but didn't have the space.
Then in photo editing later, I turned the whole picture to B&W and lassooed a portion of the background closest to the stand the plane was sitting on, copied it, and moved it over to cover up the stand.
That's it, kept it simple.
Give it a try Len, thanks for asking, and glad you like it.
Was a lot of fun and especially since I was able to achieve the effect I was going for..not always accomplished, but in this case it was.
