I was shooting a football match the other weekend, the ball nearly hit me but I didn't realize because I was looking at the other side of the pitch at 300mm, could have been painfull!

I didn't see it coming either, there is such a delay on my continuous shooting mode that the ball had already hit me full on the face before it had left his foot in the view finder LOL......this must be the last frame right before it hit!!!

For me it's not the expression that makes it a great shot, it's the folds on his shirt which tells me his leg is still extended after making the kick and shows the speed the ball was coming at you. Good capture, lucky escape!
