Hi Nick.....there is a fine line between rude and honest........

I'm not ignorant of the plight of animals in the least and I didn't say that at all......What I was meaning is that we have to be responsible about the way we approach our responses to emmotive issues such as this........much meaning can be lost or misconstrued when posting messages on line. That's why I said "let's all just respect each others cultures "

Fay,
Thanks for dropping by all the way from Canada ^-^

Diane,
Thanks for respecting the Thai's culture. Just want to elaborate a litle more. Elephant do play an significant role in their culture & economy (logging industry....exploiting, depend on how you interpret). They do treat the animal as their friend or pet. One think I am sure is they don't kill them for the ivory.

Dear all,
Let's all just respect each others cultures & opinion. Happy photography & wish you a great weekend. I am off for two days & hope to shoot some nice images of Malaysia to share with you. Regards!

If i am being rude in objecting to animal cruelty such as this, then something is wrong with your society. Dont worry, at the risk of being rude i am leaving the group. I wont say anything else, as i dont want to offend people further.

Good luck
