Really nice low light shot here, with good detail in the the opera house and queen victoria. I agree with Brian about the red blob at the bottom, I presume that is part of the boat, but I think that I would have clowned that out.

Brian, Andy & Barry,
Thankyou for your encouraging words! I can see that the 'red blob' at the bottom (which is part of the boat!) is distracting - now I have to go into my new Photoshop Elements program and try to figure out how to clone it out .... once I've done that (in a few days time!), I'll repost the image.
Thankyou again!

Oh, and Andy, it was the QE2 .... on her final voyage .... we didn't venture into the city that night since all of Sydney was 'out and about' and crowds tend to really intimidate me!! Going the night before just to see Queen Victoria was the best idea ... the tripods were out! Photographers galore taking advantage of a beautiful night and an equally beautiful harbour!

Aaaah! ... and I saw the QE2 on Her Maiden Voyage out of Southampton.
I use Elements 4, but also I suggest You give it a go, this "cloning thing",
experiment. Advice from Myself though is too unorthodox, often there are easier ways without My confusion

Hi Lenita;
It looks like I caught up to you ex DPr's. As always you have made a great capture. Your composition is right on. The prow of the ship in the foreground, and the domes in the background make for a great night shot. Well done.
