Scone Maker Wanted

Dear Friends, I could certainly use some help on this one.

I am looking for a versatile Partner of any Gender who has
expertease in the making of Scones.
Recently I visited a Country Wives Fair, in search of the
best Scone Maker in the district, but I was dismayed to
discover that the dear Lady was not a Widow and She told
Me in no uncertain terms that how She Kneads Her Dough, is
for Her and Her alone to know.
The Wire Fence You see, was part of an Electrical Security
System to deter grubby Hands from picking at Currants.
I was going to put this in the new Classified Sections, but
could not find a Personal Column.

Currants in a scone???? What next.......raisins? lol
Is this a NZ twist on an English classic, I can be versatile but this is pushing my scone making right out of the box! LOL

Talking about versatility, who managed to take a big bite out of the drop scone at the bottom of the pic.....through the electric security system too??

Will send my foolproof recipe on request....but you will have to improvise on additions.

Dear Lady, I don't want a Recipe, I want a Scone Maker, all expenses paid, and if Hubby can do Fencing and muck out the Cow Shed, then He too could come as a Package Deal

When I grew up on the farm, breadmaking day and washday always fell together on Mondays. They didn't call it multi-tasking back then...it was just common sense. While one had the wood cookstove fired up with wood to bake the bread, you might as well make use of all of hot water that was in the resevoir. My mother would have done all of this on Sundays but some of the neighbor still thought that the 'blue laws' were still in force and mother didn't want to offend anyone.....anyhooo..Mondays, were such a busy day, too busy to be cooking meals, so mother would would roll out pizza sized of bread dough and fry it in the frying pan. Beautifully browned on both sided, we would slather that with farm butter and the pour chokecherry syrup over that. We always called that scones....so in my impressionable mind, I thought this is what scones were...(would my mother lie about such things?). My bachelor uncle brought a bride back with him from Ireland and I remember we were invited over for scones. My new aunt served these dainty, bisquit, like things,with tea. Meanwhile i was still anxiously waiting for the 'scones'. You could have knocked me over with a feather, when I found out that those dry, little things were 'the scones'. I felt totally disillusioned. Firstly, that mother would call scones, 'sconce', that really weren't 'scones' (hope you are still following me)...and 2ndly that we would not be served those wonderful platter sized, fried dough that tasted like donuts.

Tedz, I would be happy to do your wash for you and bake bread and make real scones; it would only take a day and then the rest of the week I could do fencing. Doing fencing manuevers, like crouching and lunging with the sword, is great for building up buttock muscles. With all that going for ya..you may not end up being so worried about the barn needing to be mucked...

Dear internet friend,
I regret to inform you, that I am now seriously reconsidering...your reference to piousness has left me rather twitchy. Please do not take it personally but, rather, I commend you for your seriousness and thoroughness. After seeing the chaos that my landlord had gotten himself into by not asking enough questions thru internet relationships, I agree that one cannot be too cautious. He was surprised to find himself sleeping beside a lass who was aghast that he wanted to 'do it' for other reasons than procreation.
I am sure that you will meet someone more suitable to go for walks with you down to the cabbage tree and the old windmill. There are many staples in the old fencing bucket, if you know what I mean.

Forget the piousness ...it actually has nothing to do with Pies and I don't want You to *twitch* ... please reconsider Your reconsiderations and to heck with the Fencing, I shall go Electric

Dear Mello ... Ey Up! Primarily I schwing as a Tarzan in search of a Jane, however
if a Gorilla came along that did beaut Scones with dollops of Clotted Cream, I could
switch Vines and schwing either way. I have much interest in Your Victoria Secrets

lol ... love those scones and not going to offer to come to your rescue with the scones in hand . and Fred to do all the outside mucking.. lol.. Hope you have some success looking for that perfect mate .. lol ..
