Hi Lorraine,
great use of DoF and crop. Maybe a little less single directional light to try and avoid those harsh shadows next time. Try using a white board to bounce the light back from the opposite angle to fill in the shadow areas more. This will add more depth to the finished image. And maybe a little more light on the background to help eliminate those unsightly shadows behind. (Confusing ain't it).
But hey! you are definately comming on leaps and bounds, keep them comming in and I hope we can help.
Regards....Phil

Hello Lorraine. Lovely little engine, and I can see it's running on live steam as well, beautiful.
Either someone you know or someone in your family is a steam buff?

If it were me though, I would have moved back just a little and captured the whole engine,
just a personel thing I guess, and yes I would keep the landscape format as well.
Good subject matter.

Cheers,
