Lol .. Suvendra, Yes, still in Canada, Rarely do we ever get snow here in the southwest corner of BC .. lol .. but if you want snow there is lots about .. 30-50 miles away .. in the mountains ... lol .. I keep on telling everyone .. I live in the banana belt of BC .. Canada .. lol ...

Hi Else,

I had to look at this for a while before I appreciated it. Very nice tones and detail. I also like the background. I wouldn't want to tangle with those thorns.

Ok Else my friend. I am going to be totally honest about this. Its so easy to get stuck in the 'only giving good crits for the nice pics and not giving crits on images that you are not that keen on'
I have fallen into this frame of mind but now i am going to be more constructive. Even though at times the individual critic will not be able to do better there is still no harm in offering constructive crits. It is then left to the shooter to dissect the truth and assess the comments.

In light of your other images Else, this is not up to your usual standard in my honest opinion. Love me or hate me I am just being honest. It looks like a bunch of branches with no real focal point. Nice and sharp with reasonable bokeh but it does nothing for me as an image. There is no real interest for me as a viewer. Sometimes one can be caught at a solitary moment where the seemingly most insignificant of things becomes predominant in the minds eye. I have been there many times. But as a viewer this is not the case

At the risk of going off on a tangent about how many of my images are not up to the mark and pointless....and please don't take offence etc... All I ask you to do is take my opinion as it was intended with good cause and nature. There are many posts on this site and very rarely are there any real crits...mostly praise. You have taken some wonderful images..I repeat YOU HAVE TAKEN SOME WONDERFUL IMAGES! but this is not one of them in my opinion. People seem to not want to crit if they do not like the pic for fear of upsetting, I am one of them. I have posted some pics on here that I know are bloody awful but no-one crits. If its Bad or not quite up to scratch I would prefer it if people were honest. This way I can improve and learn.

Sorry for the honesty and I do love your work on the whole Else

Hi Andy .. Love how you are honest..and it really does help me think about things and what types of photos that I do post. Hate it when people pussy foot around and not give honest opinions. I appreciate it all .. and would rather have a good evaluation of what the photo is like to others!! I can see what you are saying ..Andy no real focal point.
I have never hated anyone in my life, it is excellent that you have taken the time to do a honest critique. I wish the people would do this more often myself, I am a big girl and no one ever hurts my feeling by being honest!! I appreciate the time that you have put into this evaluation ...
Bet you were thinking . oh oh . have I put my foot into it .. !! No you haven't at all!!

Oh yes! I deleted my post several times because i felt so bad. This whole site is full of such nice people, yourself included, and it would mortify me to upset anyone.
It is easy to get swept up in the praise thing because you feel you are amongst friends. I do feel that it would benefit more people though, myself included, if constructive crits were given instead of no crits at all.
I am so glad you took it as intended, though I admit to still feeling awful (how pathetic am i?!).

Actually I agree with your crit, pretty much in full.
So why did I not come on here and give the same review? Probably because I have taken the same sort of photo in the past, thinking it would look interesting but being disapointed at my result.
Maybe I thought this image contained that which I tried to capture but did not see.
