Commercial Photography
In this scene I was asked to look like a Street Hobo, (the rougher the better.)
Who visits a local diner.
The series was also to include a bunch of teenagers and a group of children.
But the client rejected this and all other images on the grounds that the deadline had past.

May I say that You are a natural ... ya Bum!
I bet You take the Tea Bag Home and use it again and again! The Red,White & Blue Bag is the Standard Stock and Trade for the Street Person. The Scene is enacted perfectly (have lived on the street in another life) ... pity about the Deadline ... and I am sure I have seen You shuffling about St.Kilda in a Floral Frock ... have You ever called Yourself Josephine?

Well, if we were ever to see someone dressed like that in this here mountain town of Lillooet, we would automatically think it was one of those retiree tourists that drop in here by the thousands from the tour busses that come down the canyon. The bus stops long enough for the tourists to grab a snack at the local German Bakery and, do a little browsing in the gift section at the local Health Food Store.
As for the disheveled look, we would just know that you came in on one of those busses that had way more widows than widowers.

looks like the hobos are better dressed and cleaner than the tramps (our equivalent) in britain, on enviromental and health reasons they wouldnt be able to get past the door in such a clean looking establishment, to me this looks like an everyday photo of an ordinary person enjoying a snack and a cup of tea or cpffee in a cafe

LOL Mel....I have to agree they certainly have them a lot cleaner in Oz. It's a much sadder site to see here, lot's of street children at the traffic Lights, it breaks my heart to see. I'm sure you'd be shocked in the fact that I never give them money....the truth of the matter is that they would spend it on glue for sniffing and not a cuppa a bit of a "catch 22" really.
Like the set up of the shot and I see you're wearing me old grandads flat cap!!

And hi all......You're all saying the same thing...not grubby enough, and yes thats true, and that's what the photographer told me also.
So that's what I have to work with.
The problem all lies with the booking.
I get a phone call from Emma. The time and the place etc.
What's the shoot about and for I ask?
Not sure, comes the reply, but wear something grubby like a checker fleesy back twill shirt and bring a Duffle Bag.
Don't have one I reply (Duffle Bag) don't even know what they look like?
Tell me what are they going to use it for (photo) I pleed.
Don't know, comes the reply, but don't be late.
Great help.
The Photographer gave me the coat to wear and the silly plasic bag.
Thankz Tedz, and I kept the Tea Bag for my next restaurant visit, you see I will only need a cup of hot water then, should help with the bill "wink"
You know Fay probably everthing that you have said is pretty well right as well. Like the sound of your German Bakery tho. That plus your Local Health Food shop would bring them in eh! Plus those gaint Mountains of yours.
Hello Mel,
Your saying much the same eh! Maybe I would be a failure in Hollywood!
I must say some of the other scences that I did were a little more intresting.
Hi Else. Yes I don't look grubby enough! Yes I'll not make Hoolywood, but I have done an add for Sonny Playstation.
In that one I had to look like the average Trades Person, riding the Subway train. It had a shot of the train and all it was really good.
Hello Di,
You know it looks like I'm going to have to go around and take some Photos of these old charaters just so that I can get it right. That's if there is a next time. Problem that I had was as well as the lack of information is the time frame, its a bit short, and besides with most of them anyway one has to go to the Costume Shop for your fitout, so there is no need to worry, Emma usually fits you out with the right gear.
Thanks all,
Joseph.

Thanks Jam,
I think that you would have liked the ones on the train much better.
