I would appreciate your thought on my first set of shots with my new D40.
I just received my nifty fifty today and I can't wait to try it out at a gig my son is doing next Thursday.....

A cracking set of shots, framing on the dafodil little tight but maybe that is just a Nikon. Should have gone for the Canon

You have a very good eye to see what others might miss is a very good start to photography nice set of photos the only one I’m not sure about is the ferns a little out of focus.

I don't know what you mean about the fern Wildigg. I think the focus is spot on....

the 50mm is a nice lens looks like you have had fun here! good sharp images through out
