Hi Phil,
Using these black backgrounds is getting very popular here, but this has been used to good effect, your glass is nice sharp and clear. Only fault that I can see is the reflections (looks like a window). If this is the case then try taking the same shot at night or maybe find a room like a hall way or even garage where reflections won't be a problem.

Thanks Barry, unfortunately this is the flash reflections. I really need a light tent for these types of images, however I tried to position the flash heads where they would cause the least reflection damage.
PS. I really love your image of Climbing. Congrats for that image.

Cheers for that Phil. As for your crystal bowl have you tried not using a flash, just a long shutter speed.
