HDR Camper van
Photographers Comments
Got really bored at work today so thought I would find something to snap only problem is office car parks on a sunday are not that great for variety luckily ( if you like VW Vans) Marcel had left his van behind.
This is an early attempt on HDR for me I have had a go before but didnt want to go to OTT.

Hi Mark, we have had the HDR debate many times here, i am more in favour of subtle. This is only my opinion and i am sure Spooks will say different, i think its too saturated for me. even the shadow looks a shade of blue, would have to see original to comment more.

Mark, if you look carefully you have fringing round the van as well on the HDR version, i have had a quick go but its difficult to get any kind of effect without source raw files. Just made virtual copies in lightroom adjusted the exposure +2 and -2 and mixed in photomatix not sure theres a lot of difference though!!!

I quite like your HDR, the subject suits it IMHO.
But agree the blue shouldn't be in the shadow, a bit of burning or selective desaturation quickly sorts it out.

Hewo guys...
Good subject for trying the HDR or Mark, but I have to agree with Denny about the blue halo effect around the van.
With HDR I do sometimes favour the more dramatic feel with boosted colours etc, but I also think it depends on the subject too - Hope you not mind but I did a couple of examples here for you - both done using Dynamic Photo
The first one is with the Ultra setting, but I adjusted the sliders and lighting to suit what I liked to see.
The second was with Eye-Catching and again sliders adjusted to suit my eye.
What program did you use for your HDR or you already said that? LOL
Hope you not mind me having a play with these, mate? Don't give up with HDR, its real fun experimenting....
ps: Hiyas Denny!!!!!

Thats no problem I appreciate any help or advice I will play about with the raw files again in photomatix and see if I can improve on it.
The only thing I will say is I did want the colour on the van to be quite bold and vibrant.
